SKIN is an armchair with tubular steel structure and hide leather cover.‎

Skin exists above all thanks to the bringing to life of Jean Nouvel’s project the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, reinterpreting the unique architecture designed for the museum and making it a product, both sculptural and innovative.‎

Armchair and pouf with self supporting hide leather cover with a special pattern.‎

Vegetable tanned hide leather dyed in white or black colours.‎

The cover cannot be removed.‎

A texture crossed by light and suspended in space. The result of many years of collaboration between Jean Nouvel and Molteni&C, SKiN is a self-supporting hide leather cover with a special pattern. Leather without body reshapes itself over time so that innovation and memory hold the same form.

The multi award-winning SKIN armchair from Italian brand Molteni&C is a remarkable piece of contemporary furniture, a real work of art for any living space. Created after many years of extensive collaboration between Jean Nouvel and Molteni&C.

Winner of the Red Dot Best of the Best Award in 2008, SKIN, combines research, design and workmanship at the highest levels. Innovative new technology was used to create the tubular pretensioned steel supporting frame which has foam rubber padding for extra comfort. The frame is covered with hide leather featuring striking geometric incisions. Over time the leather re-shapes itself giving a relaxed feel.

SKIN also won the ADI Index award in 2008 and the ELLE DECOR Design Award in 2008.
