Luigi Massoni Luigi Massoni Dilly Dally Vanity Dressing Table

An Italian ‘Dilly Dally’ chair designed by Luigi Massoni  in 1968. This chair is part of a modular vanity set, in which the chair nests into the table creating a cylinder. It has a barrel frame clad in teal leather with a cream interior and stands on steel castors for easy mobility. A circular seat cushion and curved seat back retain their original teal leather button tufts and ruched detailing. Retains ‘Poltrona Frau’ plaque on base. Sourced in Italy, 1960s.

Luigi Massoni (1930-2013) was a prolific Italian Postwar designer who worked as an architect, designer, freelance journalist and consultant. He trained at the Collettivo di Architettura in Milan and worked with iconic Italian brands such as Poltrona Frau, the Guzzini group and Alessi. Massoni was the editor and director of Marmo Tecnica Architettura from 1956-1963. He founded a magazine called Mobile Italiano and later Mobilia, an Italian furniture and design association.
