The Diesis sofa system, designed by Antonio Citte­rio and Paolo Nava for B&B Italia, takes inspi­ra­tion from the tubular steel aesthet­ics of the Le Corbusier, Perriand, and Jean­neret collab­o­ra­tion of the late 1920s. The Diesis sofa, intro­duced in the late 1970s, features a frame made of bright brushed die-cast aluminum or painted black chrome, with cush­ions made of polyurethane foam, ster­il­ized down, and poly­ester wadding of varying densi­ties. The armrest plateaus and back and seat cushion supports are made of rolled and sectioned steel covered in leather. The Diesis collec­tion includes two sofa sizes, a bench, and a chaise lounge, all avail­able with leather-covered frame compo­nents and various cushion uphol­stery options in textiles and leather.

The precisely defined metal load-bearing structure combines with the seat, back and armrests in the shape of soft padded cushions covered in fabric or leather. Other details, such as the comb-shaped back in harmonic steel covered in leather, the cast brass parts and the leather, which is micro-perforated for aeration, have all become characteristic decorative elements denoting the careful attention dedicated to this product and its strong personality. Its utmost elegance even when seen from the back, with its leather upholstered backrest, means it can be placed at the centre of the room. Distinctive features and technological materials make Diesis a long-lasting product that meets the most sophisticated international taste. Comfort is guaranteed by soft padding.
