Husk is an armchair designed by Mark Thorpe for the brand Moroso, with steel and wood frame padded with injected flame-retarded polyurethan foam, upholstered in a wide range of fabrics.

Husk is inspired by the outer shell of corn. The fields of corn punctuate the landscape of northern Italy, in particular around the city of Udine. For Thorpe, this was an opportunity to translate the architecture of the husk from an ear of corn to produce a globally recognizable and accepted object for daily use.

The husk of an ear of corn inspired the initial version of the Moroso Husk Armchair. The profile of this beautiful seating implement exudes an aura of elegance that boosts the aesthetics of any location. This armchair actualized designer Marc Thorpe's idea, which implies that concepts stemming from uncommon sources can adapt to produce a globally recognizable and accepted object for daily use. The Husk Armchair of Moroso is instilled with a high level of craftsmanship, making this product a premium choice for any location within your home.

For Thorpe, this was an opportunity to translate the architecture of the husk from an ear of corn to produce a globally recognizable and accepted object for daily use. The design of Husk for the home collection of Moroso lent itself to the international sensibility of the outdoor collection M'Afrique, manufactured in Dakar Senegal.

Marc Thorpe also designed the fabric Mini Husk in collaboration with Febrik specifically for this collection. Husk is available in two sizes of armchair and an outdoor series from hand-woven polyethylene cord.
