Designed in 2002 by Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola for Italian manufacturer Moroso, the Fjord Relax armchair is an homage to the Classic Jacobsen egg chair. The chair is set on a steel swivel base and upholstered in black leather with contrasting white stitching. Preserving the simplicity of Scandinavian design, the Fjord Relax armchair delights with its innovative combinations of material and proportion.

Fjord is a collection of lounge seating, armchairs, and dining chairs, complemented by large and small stools. Inspired by the classic Jacobsen "egg chair", Urquiola redefines Scandinavian simplicity. The essential and light frames take shape thanks to the use of new materials and new production technologies, while the visible stitching emphasizes contemporaneity.

Born in Oviedo, Patricia Urquiola attended the Madrid Polytechnic and the Milan Polytechnic Universities where she graduated in 1989 with Achille Castiglioni as her supervisor of whom she was assistant at the Milan Polytechnic from 1990 to 1992. She has worked with many great talents and a plethora of companies worldwide. This brilliant Spanish architect is a phenomenon not to be lost sight of.

Fjord Relax is offered with a steel swivel base and constructed using an internal steel frame and features fabric or leather upholstery, with matching or contrast top stitch. Relax armchair can also be specified with contrast front/back upholstery and stitching, please call to specify.
