Replica GUBI Pacha lounge chair by Pierre Paulin
Description
GUBI’s Pacha lounge chair is a delightful design classic by Pierre Paulin from 1975. Paulin was a pioneer in legless,
low-level furniture – his aim was to bring people closer to the floor and utilise the floor surface in new, versatile ways.
The generous, soft design of the Pacha lounge chair guarantees a relaxed, comfortable seating, and the friendly,
clean-lined silhouette suits many types of interiors. Besides a fine example of the design of its own era, Pacha is also a timeless
classic that has maintained its fresh character throughout the decades.
Curvaceous, soft and low-slung, the Pacha Lounge Chair is a joyfully modernist creation which embraces both extreme
comfort and effortless versatility. Iconic designer Pierre Paulin’s vision was to create a sensation of ‘sitting on clouds’.
A littleahead of its time in 1975, the modular Pacha Collection is finally coming into its own today.
While the overall feel is organic and hyper-relaxed, Paulin’s obsession for ergonomic precision and craftsmanship can
only be fully appreciated by sitting in one of his striking creations. Taking up very little floor space, it is extraordinarily
comfortable, and there is also a choice between a fixed or swiveling base. Paulin’s vision of sitting in an entire cloud
formation is made possible by the many modular combinations available. The Pacha Ottoman provides extra comfort
for the Lounge Chair, or even as an informal seat of its own. Mix and match Pacha Sofa modules in whatever
configuration you wish. Or pair up with the Lounge Chair with Armrest. A choice of Black or Pearl Gold base and
myriad customizable upholstery options lets you make precisely the statement you wish for your living room, lobby or foyer.
Showcasing 70s curves and a luxe gold base, the Pacha Lounge Chair is an eye-catching modern lounge chair.
It first burst onto the design scene in 1975, replacing the austerity of post-war design with sweeping silhouettes
and glamorous details. The brainchild of designer, Pierre Paulin, it is in many ways a classic French design — striking in
style yet wonderfully elegant. A perfectionist in every sense of the word, Paulin agonised over the details until he found the
perfect proportions that would hug and support the body. Today, Pacha finds a new lease of life as part of Gubi's 2018/9 Collection,
enabling a new generation to rediscover 70s glam all over again.
