The aesthetic-design values that place the Cestone sofa in a class of its own are also part of the Cestone bed’s shared DNA. The headboard is made up of a metal frame clad in woven cowhide. The resulting ‘checkerboard’ pattern makes a strong visual statement in aesthetically pleasing contrast to the soft upholstered bed frame that can be covered in all the fabrics and leathers from the extensive Flexform collection.

Cestone comes in several sizes and is available in versions with base composed of a single perimeter frame, rigid base, platform base with height-adjustable slats and base with storage compartment, handy for storing pillows, blankets and bed linens.

The Cestone bed headboard is created by covering a metal frame with woven hide strips, creating a solid woven panel.  The metal for the Flexform bed is available in a variety of finishes; the hide is available in a variety of colors.  The base of this modern platform bed is in wood with padding covered with fabric or leather.  A wood slatted base is standard on all Flexform Cestone beds.  For an additional charge, a tilt-up mechanism can be included with this modern bed to allow storage in the base.  Mattress is available for an additional charge with this platform bed.  Manufactured by Flexform.

Antonio Citterio (born 1950 in Meda, Italy) graduated from the Milan Polytechnic with a degree in architecture in 1972 - that same year he began work as a designer and consultant in the field of industrial design.  With Terry Dwan, he formed Studio Citterio/Dwan in 1987.  With Patricia Viel he founded the multidisciplinary Antonio Citterio and Partners in Milan in 1999.  His works are included in permanent collections of New York's Museum of Modern Art, as well as the Centre Georges-Pompidou, Paris. Citterio was the recipient of the prestigious Compasso d′Oro award in both 1987 and 1995.  Citterio has created pieces for a number of manufacturers - Arclinea, Axor, B&B Italia, Flexform, Flos, Kartell, Maxalto, Metalco, Skantherm, Studio TK, and Vitra.
