Les Ateliers Courbet invites Giancarlo Valle to develop the Smile seat collection in collaboration with master upholsterers Domeau & Pérès represented by the gallery. As part of the new Editions Courbet collection unveiled at Design Miami 2018, the Smile seats reflect the meticulous craftsmanship and upholstery expertise of the two Parisian masters, Philippe Pérès and Bruno Domeau.

GIANCARLO VALLE

New York-based designer Giancarlo Valle grew up in San Francisco, Chicago, Caracas, and Guatemala City. With a global reach, he brings together a broad experience from the fields of architecture, arts, and academics. Graduated from the school of Architecture of Princeton University, Giancarlo has served as a guest juror at Princeton University, Columbia University, and The Cooper Union.   With his New York-based studio and a diverse team of designers, artists, curators, and architects, Giancarlo works seamlessly across mediums to create rich, studied, and unexpected projects.   His design works have been exhibited at The Victoria & Albert Museum and The Museum of Modern Art.
