Cuero Design have spent 30 years recrafting the iconic Butterfly Chair design to develop a luxurious modern lounge chair that is a true masterpiece.

Originally designed in 1938 for an apartment building in Buenos Aires by architects Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, Juan Kurchan and Antonio Bonet, the Butterfly Chair is defined by a large sling that hangs from the highest points of a tubular frame, producing a defining suspended seat. Cuero's Pampa Mariposa is 30% larger than the average Butterfly Chair, creating an inviting cocooned shape that embraces and frames you when seated; offering superior comfort and stability. Available in a range of naturally treated unique leather tones, the Pampa Mariposa is a standout piece that has been expertly designed to be enjoyed in the home or workplace for generations. Cuero Design

Inspired by the classic Argentinian 'Butterfly Chair' design, Lars Kjerstadius went on to develop his own design of the product. After spending years perfecting and improving the comfort and style of the chair, Lars crafted the ultimate modern lounge chair, beautifully adapted for the 21st Century.

Cuero, a family run business (by Lars's son and partner), has now launched the chair along with a range of other luxury leather and sheepskin furniture and accessories, combining the powerful force of nature and design.

Materials & finishes

Cuero pride themselves on using the top 0.1% leather in the world for all their products. The Pampa Mariposa is made from chemical free, 4mm thick vegetable tanned Italian leather with a black powder coated steel frame, (includes floor protectors for frame). The leather sling is easily removable from the frame for ease of movement and storage.

The Flying Goose Leather Stool by Cuero Design is a versatile piece that can be placed virtually anywhere; providing seating in a hallway or acting as a footrest paired with your favourite lounge chair, the stool has been designed for flexibility.

The stool is named the ‘Flying Goose’ after its shape; the leather is stretched over the highest points of a tubular frame, creating an elegant silhouette that resembles from a side view, a bird in flight.
